My name is Matthew R. Harris, and on February 22nd, 2015 I had the worst day of my life. I had my biggest failure of all time. It was a failure so big, and so horrible that I thought I might never recover.
It was on that day that I was faced with a very important decision: Give up, or get up?
After feeling sorry for myself for several weeks, I decided to get up and fight like never before. That was the birth of Relentless Forward Momentum.
Exactly one year after the worst day of my life, I officially launched my first self-published, brand-establishing book, titled: Relentless Forward Momentum: a tactical 6-step approach to becoming a fearless and unstoppable goal-crushing legend.
I am convinced, with 100% certainty, that my dream wouldn’t be a reality if I didn’t face tremendous adversity. If I didn’t get knocked flat on my ass, I probably would have never actually finished writing a book.
A lot of times, it takes setbacks, failures and heartbreak to really understand what you want out of life.
At first, Relentless Forward Momentum was a platform I created FOR MYSELF. It wasn’t for anybody else. Of course, people were reading my material, sharing it and beginning to take notice, but selfishly I began writing content that was designed to keep myself motivated. It was all designed to keep myself from giving up!
That’s the truth.
Then I started to realize that a lot of other people could relate to the struggles I was going through.
You see, we all fail. We all have things go horribly wrong. We are all faced with incredibly tough days; days where everybody in the world would understand WHY we gave up.
But, the winners in the world are the people who NEVER give up. No matter what.
Writing a book, building a website, promoting a book, creating webinars, facebook pages, etc. took a lot of discipline. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t experience a LOT of tough days. In fact, I probably experienced far more tough days than you can even imagine (the vast majority of them), but I just kept focusing on developing discipline, mastering my habits and staying committed to the process. I kept focusing on one successful day at a time.
In fact, here is the process that basically helped me self-publish my first book. It’s a blog called, “Every Day For A Year”.
I always remind myself that if I had decided to give up on my dream of writing a book, you wouldn’t be reading this right now.
That’s something that I’m incredibly proud of. I turned a negative situation, into a positive one.
We all have this same capacity for change, and that is exactly what Relentless Forward Momentum means to me. It’s simply a matter of changing your perspective.
I believe this with all my heart.
So many things will “happen” to you in your life; so many of these things will seem unfair. And to some extent, they will be.
But, you have to remember that you are always in control of your perspective and how you respond to adversity.
Nothing can EVER defeat you once you realize this.
Remember that you grow most when you are challenged.
You grow most on the tough days.
Every time you decide to keep fighting, when others would quit, you gain strength and momentum.
I promise you that will experience self-doubt again, at some point. But, who cares?
To overcome your doubt, you have to develop a process; you have to work hard to develop a crystal-clear vision of exactly who you want to be. You have to work hard to master your habits. You have to grind and hustle harder than ever before.
Most importantly, you have to believe in yourself, unconditionally.
That’s exactly what Relentless Forward Momentum is here to help you do.
For me, it took a really, REALLY tough day to discover what I wanted out of life.
Don’t forget to show gratitude for your tough days. They are often your biggest blessings.
When I look back, February 22, 2015 was NOT the worst day of my life. In fact, I constantly consider it the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE.
Seriously. It changed my trajectory. It recalibrated my focus. It led me to where I am today.
I truly believe that you can always profit from your losses. You can always turn failure into a victory. You can always fight a little bit harder.
And, it’s never too late to become all that you can be.
