This blog will teach you simple techniques for embezzling money by running a highly illegal Ponzi scheme. You will extract wealth from unknown sources. I will then walk you through a series of steps, virtually untraceable, to help you cook the books and hide this newfound wealth from the Feds. This blog will keep the money flowing into your pockets, all the while keeping you out of prison.
I know, I know, you probably have questions. I’m sure you’re thinking is this dangerous? Is this illegal? How tight are the handcuffs? All of these are reasonable questions that will hopefully be addressed by the end of this blog.
Hopefully, I have you a little scared right now. Or maybe you’ve already moved on and deleted your browsing history…. If you’re still reading to this point, I assume that you are “all-in”. You are ready to take the leap. I’ll just be honest now, after lying to you for almost 3 paragraphs – This blog IS about fake accounts, but not in the sense that you are thinking. You will setup a “fake” account and I promise you, you will NOT get arrested. At least for what we are talking about.
To give you somewhat of a background, I worked as a financial advisor for the first 4 years of my professional life. I was immersed in a world of personal and professional development. We had goals on top of goals, accountability systems and we measured our results in EVERYTHING. We learned a lot about human psychology and how to achieve peak performance in all areas of our lives. We were constantly testing and analyzing new tricks and tactics to help us elevate to the next level. It was awesome. We learned how to consistently step outside of our comfort zones and confront our fears. This world is one that very few are lucky enough to experience. This is the culture of one of the top sales organizations in the entire country.
So, as a financial advisor I worked 100% on commission. If I succeeded in a given week, I made money. If I didn’t, I made no money. 100% of the risk fell on my shoulders. It was not for the faint of heart. I was handed absolutely no clients, no prospects and I never, I repeat NEVER received a single lead. I truly started from ground zero.
The first day, my office had a telephone in it. That was it. The only prospects I had were the 22 names and numbers I had written down of my closest friends and family. Basically, the people I wasn’t afraid to call at the time. So that’s where I started. 4 years later I had built a business comprised of over 330 clients. It didn’t come easy. There was a LOT of rejection along the way. There were a lot of TOUGH DAYS!
The telephone was my only friend, yet my worst enemy. There were days where every single person I called emphatically told me, “No”, as I persistently requested a meeting. But, that was the only tool in my arsenal. That was the only way for me to make money. My process was simple – call people, set meetings, ask for referrals. Every day I woke up, I was basically unemployed. My next paycheck was not a certainty. This created a lot of urgency and a lot of creativity. And that, is exactly what I’m going to tell you about now.
After I had been in the business for about a year I did an analysis to determine exactly what each phone call was worth to me based on my sales numbers. I determined that every time I picked up the phone I made $8.67. This money wasn’t paid to me immediately, however. It was paid WHEN I made a sale. But, what I was looking for, was a way to disconnect from the results of my effort, which is so very important. This is a crucial and underestimated principle in so many businesses. You have to be able to stay focused on the habits that bring results, and not the results alone.
For me, getting paid was something that drove me to take action. I had to know that what I did each day actually meant something. That’s where I started to get creative.
Since I figured that I made $8.67 each time I picked up the phone, I decided to track this as ACTUAL INCOME. It wasn’t real income but I wanted to trick myself into believing that it was.
I actually created a [fake] Accounts Receivable spreadsheet for my business. At the end of every day I would log my phone calls into my trusty spreadsheet and lo and behold – it would produce a daily revenue number for me. I tracked my yearly income goals based on my activities and NOT my actual sales. I had no idea when I would actually make sales, but I knew that the telephone was the NUMBER 1 priority for my business. This [make-believe] account became the only thing I cared about.
I cared about this more than my actual business account because I KNEW that this money would [eventually] be paid to me. It was a debt that was owed to me.
Everything changed for me at that point in time. The year before I had success, but it was cyclical and based on when I actually got paid (or closed a deal). My focus was Results-based and not Behavior-based. There’s a big difference.
Creating this fake account changed my business. It changed my life. It was a tool that gave me permission to forget about results! We stress so much about the results that it creates anxiety and stress, which are a huge detriment to your self-esteem, especially in the world of sales! If you aren’t confident, you will never make sales.
Developing this fake account created a laser-like focus for me on developing great habits. My day began at 6:00am with a hot yoga class. From there, I would get changed and get to the office by 7:30am. Then, I spent 1 hour preparing my phone calls for the day and the second the clock struck 8:30, I started dialing. ALL OF MY ENERGY was focused on a singular habit. I didn’t care if people said yes or no because I trusted the process! I knew that the results would follow my great habits.
Even more amazing was the fact that NOBODY could stop me from picking up the phone for those 90 minutes. It was totally in MY CONTROL. If it didn’t get it done, it was my fault. No one else’s.
But, what about you?
Now I know that you might not work in a 100% commissioned sales job, and that’s totally fine. This principle can be utilized in so many different areas of your life.
To achieve great things you have to control the narrative in your head. You have to change your perspective and you have to play mental games with yourself to achieve peak performance. Every habit you have is either taking you 1-step closer to your Vision, or 1-step away. Think about that.
I understand that are things that you don’t want to do, but remember, “Successful people develop the habit of doing the things that unsuccessful people are unwilling to do”. They develop GREAT HABITS!
Think of every habit you have as either a deposit, or a withdrawal from your account! Every time you eat McDonald’s you are making a withdrawal from your fitness account. It will take an extra cardio session to burn off those calories. Contrarily, every time you choose a healthy alternative, instead of McDonald’s, or every time you workout, you are making a deposit. You are making progress towards your goal. Think about your habits this way. If continuously make more deposits than withdrawals, you will develop a surplus in your account. This surplus will manifest itself in RESULTS! It might not happen overnight, but it WILL happen. It’s a function of continuously making more deposits than withdrawals (i.e. improving your daily habits).
The same is true with your financial situation. If you continue to pay yourself first, and invest money rather than spending it frivolously, over time you will accrue financial freedom. If you are always finding a way to spend more than you make, putting your bills on credit cards, and spending indiscriminately, you will end up broke. It’s simple.
So many people get discouraged when they are chasing a Vision, or a big goal. They don’t see results right away and then they give up. What’s really sad, is that most people give up just before they are about to have a huge breakthrough. If you make a small change to your mentality, you can overcome this! Create a fake account. This is your Accounts Receivable, which just means it’s “owed to you”. Start focusing on making quality deposits in your Accounts Receivable and quit worrying about results. Focus ONLY on what you can control — your habits. Results are never fully in your control. Results are always delayed and are always a function of the work that you have put in, so keep your head down and be patient.
Pick up that Ax
“If you go to a tree with an ax and take whacks at the tree every day, it doesn’t matter if it’s an oak or a redwood; eventually the tree has to fall down.”
Whatever your Vision is, whatever goal you are aiming for, just start somewhere. Shift your mindset and focus from results-based to a behavioral-based. The results will take care of themselves if you are patient and relentless. Focus on incremental progress. Remember, start small and start somewhere. Focus on your behaviors, building habits that are completely manageable and entirely in your control. This will make you unstoppable.
If you want to write a book, focus on a daily writing goal, like I do. If you want to lose weight, focus on a specific amount of cardio at a set intensity. Don’t overdo it and don’t get discouraged. Remember, you are making deposits every time you make a positive decision in the direction of your Vision. Simply focus on making more deposits than withdrawals.
Learn to fall in love with the process of who you are becoming. Every great habit builds a stronger character; more and more capable of doing bigger and better things.
So where do you need to start? What is 1 thing you can start doing immediately to begin growing your Accounts Receivable? How can take a step, as small as necessary, in the direction of your Vision, today?
Make your plan. Make a weekly checklist. Start chipping away at that huge tree. Start making tiny deposits in your account. Don’t worry, the Feds won’t be breathing down your neck if they discover this account, even when you decide to make a HUGE WITHDRAWAL!
